Terms of use

Last updated: October 26, 2026. This page describes the site as currently built.

1. The service

PaycheckSum provides free calculators and guides covering United States payroll taxes for tax year 2026, plus Canada and United Kingdom modules held in reserve (clearly labelled, not activated). Results are produced by a documented calculation engine whose parameters cite primary sources.

2. Estimates, not advice

Every result is an estimate for planning and understanding. It is not tax, legal or payroll advice, and it is not a filing, withholding or remittance service: this site never files, remits or withholds anything, for anyone. Your employer, your payroll provider, your state agency and the IRS are the authorities for your actual amounts.

3. Accuracy and sources

Each calculation line cites its primary source and the date it was verified, and each calculator publishes its known limits. Data that is not fully verified against its primary source is labelled on the calculator itself (see the disclaimer for the status definitions). We work to keep parameters current, but we do not warrant that any result is fit for a specific payroll run, filing or decision.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the calculators for your own personal or business estimation. You may not bulk-scrape the calculation data pack, and you may not present a result from this site as an official determination by any authority.

5. Intellectual property

The site's texts, design and engine belong to PaycheckSum; the underlying government data and publications belong to their publishers and are cited, not claimed.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, PaycheckSum is not liable for decisions taken in reliance on an estimate from this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in that province.

8. Changes to these terms

Changes to these terms are posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top of the page changes with them.
